It was once
Long long summer days
Still longer 
Are the kids' laughters

It seems
The sun never sets

But the north winds
Start to blow 
Carry the hint of coldness 
Carry the birds and people south 

The sun
Once so generously upon us
Rise feebly over horizon 
Then sink quickly, shamefully 

Darkness rules 
Cold wind patrols
