11月17日，我们听到一个振奋人心的消息，著名人权律师Blum先生代表亚裔学生，开始起诉哈佛大学和北卡大学他们多年来在新生录取时对亚裔的歧视。以下是一些触目惊心的残酷事实：

1．亚裔进一流名校SAT要比白人高140分，比西裔高270分，比非裔高450分。

2．亚裔在任何一个SAT分数段的录取率都是最低。在同样分数的情况下，录取率比白人低67%。比其他族裔则更低。

3．我们很多品学兼优的孩子，有着高SAT，高GPA, 并有参赛得奖、优异课外活动的资质还被长春藤等名校累累拒绝。

在过去20年亚裔学生不但数量增加，学生的素质大幅度提高的情况下，长春藤对亚裔学生的录取比例基本持平。这些学校的隐形配额制已经形成对我们孩子成长和教育的最大枷锁。是亚裔和华裔在美国所面临的最大人权问题。

今天，Blum先生已经站出来为我们抗争了。我们还能再做哑裔吗？华人应该组织起来，趁热打铁，积极支持这一诉讼。具体如下：

第一、发动被哈佛、北卡大学等名校不公正拒绝的学生勇敢地站出来，参与到对这些学校的起诉活动中。不论是公开或匿名方式，都是重要的支持。

第二、华人应该积极行动起来，以不同方式表达对这一诉讼的支持，包括向新闻媒体写信、留言等。现在有些主流媒体如NPR的报道不公正，希望大家积极参与留言，给他们写信，以正视听。

1.    1. Focus on the fact that Asian Americans are the biggest victim of this discrimination. It is not fair to reverse discriminate Asian Americans who have done nothing wrong to other minority groups.

2.    2. Chinese Americans were victim of “Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.”  Unfairly, they have become victim of again in the area of college admission for the last few decades.

3.    3. Do not attack African Americans, Hispanic Americans, who are the beneficiaries of racial based college admission policy.

4.    4. Attack the racial based policy which victimizes poor, hardworking Asian American students by giving favorable treatment to better-off families from other minority groups.

5.    5. Point out the best approach to help other minorities is to improve their education, not to limit qualified Asian American students.

6.    6. Point out setting Quota by elite schools violates Supreme Court Ruling of 1978 “California vs. Bakke”.
