Leg and legal
When we go hiking in the woods, the sign we encounter most is "No trespassing". Indeed, the most common legal matter is where our legs can move.
It is similar in the Chinese language. Law is 法 in Chinese. Leg is 脚. Both words contain 去, or go. This means both words are about walking. 法, which has three points, or water, at the left, originally means river ford. Two sides of a river may be ruled by different people. When one goes across to the other side of a river, there are often legal matters to resolve. Hence 法 evolves to be law.
The pronounciations of law and 路, or road, way, are similar. Law is the way. The pronounciations of go and 脚 (leg) in some Chinese languages are similar.
