            一个梦(顾名思义)所寓意的

            我笃实相信，直面有形实体，

            一个梦不再是梦，而是一种东西，

            事物的本来样子，真似蓝色吉他

            历经若干夜晚长久弹奏之后

            触及的是思想，而不是手感，

            这些领悟捕捉得

            完美无暇。一旦天亮起来，

            好像礁石反射的光芒，

            从往昔单调的海洋升腾。

【注】“希望小屋”由朋友会(Quaker)企业家“听从上帝者·深色”(Samuel Morris)建于1750年，被视为白沼泽镇(Whitemarsh, PA)附近“乔治亚殖民时期建筑”的杰作之一：1)整体结构及门窗位置保持严格对称；2)以材料为砖、石或灰泥(以砖为主)；3)庑殿顶和天窗，窗口带装饰性头球；4)主门伴有山形墙、拱顶、双弯形沿等装饰。

“收割机磨坊”建于1690年左右，靠鲇鱼溪(Wissahickon Creek)提供动力，1740—1746年间“希望小屋”的主人逐渐购得所有权。
