Remembering the Campus

 

[2010年秋， 回杭住凯悦，一夜无法入睡，想延安路的校园，天蒙蒙的时辰，去找通往校园后门的小路，已经找不到了。 我这才知道我们的延安路校园只能在梦中把它留住。]

 

 

淡淡的月儿渐渐隐去银辉，

静静的湖面映出几抹霞媚，

鸟儿的几声争鸣

                   划 破了半醒的晨曦，

我迈着欢快的脚步

                   去寻找那通往校园的小径

 

When the touch of the moon faded to silver，

And the twilight secretly glanced at the lake,

Quietly mirroring the weeping willows,

The chirping of birds broke the sleepy dawn,

I walked with cheerful steps,

On the trail leading to the Campus.

 

我记得， 我记得

高高的捂桐树下

                  有一道白白的围墙，

围墙下

            有一扇小小的后门，

门后面

          是一条晨读时小石凳。

我寻找，我寻找

但是已经找不到，

 只有孤零的背影

                在延安路上俳徊。

 

I remember, I remember,

Under the cover of tall plane trees,

A white wall, and in the fence,

There was a small back door.

Behind the gate was a stone bench,

I’ve used for reading in the morning.

I looked, I looked, but … could not see anything.

Only the lonely person,

Walking irresolute on Yan'an Road.

 

 

35年似水的年华

                已成过眼烟云，

浮燥涌动的都市

                 将一切都消失在那地平线。

 

Thirty-five years have passed,

And, disappeared on the horizon,

Under the surge of the metropolis.

 

我流泪， 我喃喃：

“延安路校园， 你在哪里？”

我呼唤， 我喊呐：

“回来吧, 我梦中的校园！

你是我的爱， 你是我的灵！”

 

I cry, I whisper, Yan'an Road campus, where are you?

I am calling you, come back campus of my dreams!

You are my love, you are my spirit.

 

我听到，我听到

悠扬的手风琴声

                从云中轻轻地飘来，

“把青春献给新长征”的音旋，

我看见，我看见

随风舞动的柳枝遥遥

                   将“春的消息”传递，

在初升的太阳下，大声地说

“社会， 请作出公证吧”

把延安路的校园还给我。

 

I heard, I heard,

The sound of an accordion,

The melody gently floating from the cloud,

Devoted to the New Long March.

I saw, I saw,

The wind dancing with the willow branches,

Heralding the message of Spring,

 

Under the rising sun, I shouted loud,

Fellow citizens become aware,

Bring the Yan'an Road Campus back to me.

 

我不顾一切的穿越

                  “宝马”滚动的大街，

惊慌的行车刹住了，

惊讶的行人止步了，

我扑向那紧锁的大门，

急急地抓住

               透着凉意的铁拦柵，

一股暖流穿过

               我那颤颤抖抖的双手，

一缕阳光抚过

                我那红红扑扑的面容，

我紧紧地拥抱着她，

无论是相聚还是相别，

我选择了留恋不放手。

 

I disregard everything and run across the street,

Stunned pedestrians freeze as BMWs and the traffic,

Come to halt in a panic.

I leap at the locked gate and hug the cold iron bars,

Warmth passes through my shaking hands,

And the rays of sunshine caress my blushing face.

I hold it tightly we are together,

Or away from each other,

I choose to miss it, and won’t let it go.

 

 

传达室的师傅出来了：

姑娘，

你那两条小辫子

                        还是那样的美丽，

你那小小的酒窝

                    还是那样的迷人，

你那甜甜的微笑

                     还是那样的天真。

 

The gatekeeper comes out and says to me:

Girl, your two braids are so beautiful,

Your little dimples are charming,

Your sweet smile is naive as a child’s.

 

进来吧

这里有你的哥有你的姐，

这里有你的书有你的灯，

路上的小石子

               还刻着你给取得名，

角落那边的小吃店

              还留着你喜欢的阳春面，

穿过那一幢幢教学楼

               还能坐到你睡过的小床边，

站立那东边的一食堂

               还 飘出一毛五分的大排煎，

这就是

                   这就是你永远的校园！

 

Come, your brothers and sisters are here,

There are your books and your light.

Near the path covered with pebbles,

Engraved is your name in a stone.

On the corner is the snack bar,

Carries your favorite noodles with green onion.

Through the blocks of teaching buildings,

You can sit down on the small bed you slept in.

Standing there to the east is the canteen,

With the smell of fried pork chops for fifteen penny.

This is your Campus!

 

姑娘们挽着手从窗下走过，

    将一串串的银铃声抛向空间，

男生们再也无法宁静

匆匆的走到窗前 多 看上几眼。

相爱不敢说的年代，

把心思藏的隐隐约约，

只有桂花树下的依恋，

   融化成永久的思念。

这就是

                   这就是年轻人的情绪链！

 

 

Girls walk by the window, arm-in-arm,

Filling the space with strings of silver giggles.

Rouse boys dash to the window in a hurry,

For no more than fancy glances.

Love could not be revealed in the era,

Only the vague thoughts of feelings.

The affection under the sweet olive trees,

Melted into everlasting memories,

And became the chain of emotions of our youth.

 

35年似水的年华

                还是这样的刻骨铭心，

只有相聚一起的时候

           一切又变成清晰简单的风景线，

穿越吧，同桌的你

只有延安路的校园

   才能留住我们的清 纯美丽，

穿越吧，上铺的我

只有延安路的校园

   才能将我们的青春变成传奇。

 

Thirty-five years have passed, still so memorable.

Together again, in a clear and simple world.

At the same table, and across,

My desk- and upper bed roommates.

We remember, our legendary youth and,

Our pure and beautiful Yan’an Road Campus.
