As anticipated, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley withdrew from the race as former President Trump secured victories in all Super Tuesday states except Vermont.
Trump is far from invincible, however. The latest polls, including one commissioned by Fox News, suggest that Haley, rather than Trump, could potentially lead the Republican Party to a landslide victory if she were to face off against Democratic President Biden this November. Haley has a valid reason for not endorsing Trump, recognizing that he, like Biden, is a candidate with high negative ratings. Actually, both gentlemen have transformed the 2024 presidential election into a contest of unpopularity.Biden is aware of his weaknesses, which is why he strives to maintain broad appeal. If the U.S. economy keeps humming, the incumbent president will likely end up in the White House for four more years. As for Trump, his tone and actions are too divisive. While boasting a dedicated following, he has a hard time attracting independent voters. His prospects could improve if he were to have Haley as his running mate, but that scenario seems unlikely. Don't count on it.Author: renqiulan
