Revelation 2:7圣灵向众教会所说的话,凡有耳的,就应当听。得胜的,我必将神乐园中生命树的果子赐给他吃。
2:7 He that hath an ear. The one to whom God has granted the spiritual ability to understand the truth (Deut. 29:4; Isa. 6:9–10; Matt. 13:9–17). Spirit saith. The Holy Spirit speaks in all the Scriptures (14:13; 22:17; 2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 3:7; 9:8; 10:15), addressing not just each church here but all the churches. overcometh. Everyone born again unto faith in Christ fights and overcomes sin in this world by Christ’s victory on the cross (5:5–10; 12:11; 17:14; 1 John 5:4–5). tree of life. Heaven is like a return to the garden of Eden (paradise; 22:2, 14; Gen. 2:8–9; 3:22; Luke 23:43; 2 Cor. 12:4). This stands in contrast to the goddess Artemis, symbolized by a fruitful tree; only Christ is the tree of life.[1]
7. “Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To everyone who overcomes I will give permission to eat from the tree of life, which is in God’s paradise.”
a. “Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.” The formula “Let anyone who has an ear listen” comes from the lips of Jesus during his earthly ministry. Here an extended version appears with the words “what the Spirit says to the churches,” occurring in every one of the seven letters (2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22). This saying precedes a promise in 2:7, 11, and 17 and follows a promise in 2:29; 3:6, 13, 22. The first part of this sentence is an idiomatic expression and refers to the capability of a person to hear and an accompanying willingness to listen. The second part is a command to listen attentively and obediently to the words of the Holy Spirit. Jesus speaks through the Spirit, as is evident in other passages of Scripture (John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13–14; Acts 2:33).[2]
