Bear is ours in French and ursus in Latin. In English, the possessive pronoun of we is ours. This suggests the ancestors of English speakers are bear tribes. Ursus is similar to usurp. This might suggest Latin people view Germanic people, who are bear tribes, as usurpers. This also indicates Latin people dominated Europe earlier while Germanic people are late comers.
