How to teach your kid is your own responsibility. I respect that.
Honestly, when my kid turn into a teenager, I probably will tell him the same things you said. Except this one: "try not to get into arguments with people", instead, I will tell him: "arguments is fine, as long as it's peaceful, but if you got attacked, use anything handy to defend yourself, get away from the scene as soon as possible, and call the police as soon as possible."
That's my experience from my teenager life. You might not agree with it.
Sometimes, the trouble will just find you no matter how hard you try to avoid it.
Trust me, being a coward is never a solution, being smart is.
And young kids at nowadays have no experience as we do.
Actually, If the kids who got shot did what I said, leave the Karaoke
right after the fighting. They would be still alive now.
I still believe they are good kids, spontaneous and naive kids.
They didn't kill people, but they got shot because of a bathroom argument....
If I were their parent, I definitely will revenge for them,
no matter how much it takes, no matter how long it takes.
You know, in Canada, there is no death penality, so that murderer will still live his dirty life, waste tax payer's money in jail
even after the police caught him. it's so unfair.
