我所知道,一般美國公司的職位是這樣的
MTS I - 相當於加拿大的 Junior Eng (Nortel Band 4)
MTS II - 相當於加拿大的 Intermediate Eng (Nortel Band 5)
SMTS - 相當於加拿大的 Senior Eng (Nortel Band 6)
Lead Eng - 相當於加拿大的 Team Leader (Nortel Band 6)
Staff Eng - 相當與加拿大的 Architect (Nortel Band 7, IC7)
Senior Staff Eng - 相當於加拿大的　Senior Architect (Nortel Band 8)

Engineer 最高的職位是　Senior Staff Engineer, 他的老闆是 Director, 已經不可能只在技術線上，而至少要負責整個項目（resources, project, s/w, h/w, sit)

在公司裡面，工資是和職位掛鈎的，而不是職稱．
當然，職稱高，容易得到高職位．
However, personally, I don't care PENG as long as I can get a desire position.
