实用英语探讨： always 后面能用动词过去时态吗？

Always 一般来说常用描述发生于所有时间内的事件，所以always后面通常用动词现在时态  simple present tense。  过去国内的英语教学，通常强调的是这一点。 但是，现在一个常见的问题是，always 后面能不能也用动词过去时态simple past tense吗？ 因为如果你常读英语刊物的话，always 后面也用动词过去时态也是非常常见的用法。 比如。"I always thought" 就是一个常见句型，google 一下，有上亿人次在发表文章的时候用 "I always thought"。其他如 "I always did＂ 也都是常见用法。
