兩年前幫一個美國朋友，鑑賞了張大千五十年代末在巴西畫的一幅畫，是獻給于右任老人八十大壽辰的。是朋友夫婦於六十年代，在台灣教英文的時候購買的。而且這幅畫，當時畫了應該不止一幅。朋友神秘兮兮，不讓拍照，說是要拿去蘇富比去拍賣，畫上題有一首吹捧于右任的詩，和張大千本人的簽名和印章，如下：

叱吒風雷數十春

而今只署太平人

參天黛色吾能說

腕底蟠虬自寫真

戊戌五月敬壽髯翁八十大慶

大千弟張爰巴西摩詰城南八德園拜寄

印章（朱)大千父（白）千千千

朋友不懂中文，由領導捉刀，給翻譯如下：

Zhang Da-qian (1899-1893)

The wind blows,

The thunder rebukes.

Having been powerful and influential 

For so many straight years!

Now you only humbly present yourself,

As a peaceful senior.

But I would loudly say,

You’re as strong as an old pine tree

With tanning skin and branches

Reaching above the sky.

At the heart of your wrist

Coils a young dragon,

Your skilled experience

Exhibiting your true portrait

In your artistic pride!

Composed and signed by Daqian Zhang (seal 1 in red: Da Qian Fu, seal 2 in white: Qian Qian Qian), in May 1958 according to the Chinese lunar year. The drawing and poem were specially prepared for the purpose of respectfully celebrating the 80th birthday of Mr. You Youren (于右任,1879-1964) who was an educator and calligrapher, as well as an influential politician in Chinese history. When this work was completed, the artist was living in the Garden of Eight Virtues（八德園）located the south of his Moji das Cruzes house（摩詰山莊）in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
