An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) had managed to penetrate 4km into Israeli airspace on Jul. 17 before returning back to Syria.
According to media reports, the Israeli air defense had tried but failed to bring down the intruder with two Patriot air defense missiles and a air-to-air missile fired from a fighter jet. One of the Patriot missiles landed in a kibbutz in the north and a girl was lightly wounded as a result. |
