These time lapses were done with DSLR still cameras. They have a built in timer that can be set anywhere from one picture a second to a day between. Video is made from 30 moving pictures a second so you have to take 30 pictures to have one second of video. Usually these scenes were shot at 3 seconds to 15 seconds between. A 10 second shot in real time took 15 to 75 minutes. This video is made from almost 9,000 still images. The shutter in a DSLR fails after 150,000 images.
David built a railing crawler for the Cambie St Bridge. It moves, takes a picture, moves again and so on.
