In Memoriam: Lin Zhao

I always wish I could lay a sprig of plum blossom on Lin Zhao's grave. A single bullet that was worth five cents in her time ended her life. It also began her legend.

When alive, she was already known to bite more than a few bullets, idiomatically speaking. For a young woman, that's a lot. For this young woman, that's a daily affair - and her days were numbered.

To compensate for her shortened life, she lengthened her bright dream in a dark age.

I don't know if the dark age she died in is over. I only know that the bright dream she died for isn't.

敢正乾坤敢守真，自由魂出死囚身。

独鸣夜海啁啾晓，交响冬原霹雳春。

惊蟄众闻龙在野，平居谁念凤归尘？
