For more than 20 years, Catherine has worked to transform the systems that enable sex and labor trafficking. She spent the first years of her career working in humanitarian disasters and war zones to prevent trafficking and assist child trafficking victims with Save the Children. She went on to lead a national training program for the U.S. Justice Department to equip law enforcement and community organizations to identify and assist trafficking victims. At Humanity United, a philanthropy created by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, she created a global advocacy campaign to address the plight of migrant construction workers building the infrastructure for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. After a decade of effort, Qatar became the first country in the Persian Gulf to institute a minimum wage, and has made some of the most progressive changes to their labor laws in the region.

In 2020, she was appointed the CEO of Polaris, where she leads an incredible team to end sex and labor trafficking and support survivors on their journey of freedom.  She serves as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council, appointed by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in 2021. She is also a founding member of Chief, a network of more than 15,000 women executives around the world, and serves on the board of directors of the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum.

Catherine holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and a master in public health from Columbia University. She resides in Washington DC.

Capital can be further divided into two parts: the lawful and the unlawful capital. The former is ubiquitous and the latter is hidden from the public view and therefore its existence is negligible. 殺不得的。因為合法資本為了資本積累不惜借用一切可行方法進行搜刮。合法資本在暗中接濟、支持非法資本，使得後者斷不了根，於是合法與非法在暗中合流，共同“勤勞致富”了。資產階級的法律是由資本家階級說了算的，非法資本才能夠殺而不絕地生存並壯大。只有更換了社會制度，也就是革命了，這最後一個私有制被嶄新的公有制推翻了，然後才能夠解決這個問題。[Mark Wain 2023-08-09]

新聞提要：每月有超過1萬名移民繼續抵達紐約，要求提供庇護所、膳食和服務，市長亞當斯警告，紐約市正處於財政懸崖前夕。

有報道指，儘管拜登政府聲稱正在減少湧入尋求庇護者人數，但數據並未顯示出有絲毫放緩跡象。......。

現在紐約街頭討乞的、撿廢品的越來越多。我天天坐地鐵，看見車站、車廂里背着嬰兒既帶着兒童叫賣零食的不了不絕。還有擺賣水果、賣唱的，也是空前的多。

販賣人口是個嚴重問題，拜登政府的開放邊境就更促使人口販賣。他們實際上是害這些非法移民，（當然也是危害美國社會治安和人民）而不是造福他們。

說得對！民主黨的資本家階級最需要廉價勞動力，非法移民越多，勞工市場的非常低廉的奴工越多。連合法移民都難找到工作；另方面利用非法移民沖淡美國本土公民的勢力，使得達到民主黨化。而民主黨特別是高層，最虛偽且最喜歡玩欺騙手法，所以這次美國人民對民主黨不滿、是要撕掉其偽裝。不管這次運動能否“抽乾華盛頓沼澤”或能否成功，也是美國的一個前進步伐，如果矛盾激化到革命更好。
