Zero-Covid and lockdown is correct and appropriate for a country such as China to save the majority.

Please everyone read the World’s statistics, till today, death of Covid in the US is 1,104,751, 14,235 in Taiwan, and 5,233 in China yet China's population is 4 times of the US, and 61 times of Taiwan ( https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ ). 

This is actually a risk/reward issue. A point to be taken is that  China's infrastructure in healthcare is not as sound especially in the  rural area as in the US and Taiwan, letting go the guard would cause  enormous amount of death.  And more important, both of the US and Taiwan  are failed areas in preventing and controlling the Covid pandemic,  nothing to learn from.

There may be some scattered inconveniences or casualties due to the  process but we can use one sentence to summary the justifications:

“Crying all the way is worse than crying as a family ( 一路哭不如一家哭 )”  

We have tolerated hundreds of thousands high-way deaths and economic  lost every year in the world, could we give up the high-way system?

BEIJING,  Nov 27 (Reuters) - China reported its fourth straight daily record of  39,791 new COVID-19 infections on Nov. 26, of which 3,709 were  symptomatic and 36,082 were asymptomatic, the National Health Commission  said on Sunday.

That  is compared with 35,183 new cases a day earlier – 3,474 symptomatic and  31,709 asymptomatic infections, which China counts separately.

Excluding  imported infections, China reported 39,506 new local cases, of which  3,648 were symptomatic and 35,858 were asymptomatic, up from 34,909 a  day earlier.

        Protests have erupted in Beijing and the far western Xinjiang region over  COVID-19 lockdowns  and a deadly fire on Thursday in a high-rise building in Urumqi that  killed 10 people (with some reports putting the number as high as 40).         
               
                           

Reuters verified that the footage was published from Urumqi, where many  of its 4 million residents have been under some of the country's longest  lockdowns, barred from leaving their homes for as long as 100 days.            

In the capital of Beijing 2,700 km (1,678 miles) away,  some residents under lockdown staged small-scale protests  or confronted their local officials over movement restrictions placed  on them, with some successfully pressuring them into lifting them ahead  of a schedule. -Reuters
