Fully agreed. However, in the history, especially in the European countries in the middle age and before almost all citizens were Christians as well as state officials, it was logically and reasonably for them to think their countries were theocracies and to try to build their countries into theocracies. Even by now, many US Christians think US is the theocracy although far away from their European forerunners.
