Forever Changed

The event that changed my life is accepting Lord Jesus as my personal Lord and savior. This event totally changed my life. It did not only change certain aspect of my life, but God has made me a new person since I believed in him. Lord Jesus changed my heart. In Jesus, I found the meaning and purpose of life; that is committing and live my life for Jesus, glorifying his name in this world. In Jesus, I found peace and joy; He is the greatest treasure of my life.

I came to America 4 years ago. When I was a freshman in high school, I was very depressed because I was new to the country. I had lots of fear and hatred towards other people. At that time I was not a Christian, but my parents became Christians first. I suddenly realized the change in them; they were changed by the love of Jesus. My parents started to care more about me. One day, my father brought me to church, I talked to my pastor, he explained to me about the love of God, if I am willing to accept Jesus and commit my life to him, he will live in me and make me new. The first day I did not really wanted to believe, but the second day I decided to receive Jesus. I prayed with my pastor and received this new life that Jesus has given to me. When I look back, that was the best decision I ever made in my life.
After I followed Jesus, he really showed me how he loved and cared about me. He poured out his love in to my heart. In my freshmen and sophomore year, I was addicted deeply into computer games. After I became a Christian, I realized the things I did was wrong, I prayed to God and seek help from him. God really answered my prayer! I was able to gain control in playing video games and put more time in to my school work. I know that I didn’t have the power to do it, but God helped me and did it! It was such a surprise and a gift to me. If I am still addicted to computer video games, the situation would be so horrible because I would have wasted so much precious time.
I really thank God for every thing that he has given to me. When I have difficulties some times in school or when I felt discouraged, Jesus always encourage me when I pray to him and read the Bible. God always watch and care about me.
Before I was a Christian, I totally lived for my self. But now, the purpose of my life is to live for God and testify about his goodness. Christ has given me a heart of compassion, I was able to help and love other people. Now, I am doing volunteer in the library every Monday and Thursday. I felt so happy when I help the people who need help because that is what God wants me to do. I felt so happy in Jesus now.
This is definitely the most significant change in my life, because it has changed my heart forever. Jesus loves us so much and he is willing to reach out to us if we believe and accept him. Even though I have countless weaknesses and flaws, but Jesus knows my weakness and always loves and encourages me. I still have difficulties in life, and I don’t know what is ahead since this is my senior year. But in Christ, I will not have fears and worries, because God lives in me, and he will guide me and show me the directions. He has a plan for every person in this world. He is willing to love us no matter what kind of people we are, no matter what horrible mistakes we have made, he is the loving father that always waits for us.
