When I came to US 10 years ago, I tried to move to a big city to get Ph.D from a top ten school. I got admitted, but did not come up with enough money for the tuition for the first quater. I literally walked door to door in China town, trying to find a job, but failed because I could not speak Cantonese. I have to return to my small town to continue my MS in a small school. Some one in my church (I only went there for less than two months, and accepted Christ there.) asked the elders to pass a small envelop of $60. It's a really small amount, and I really could live without it. However, I still remember that Love. The elder insisted me to accept it, saying it's not from person, and it's Love from GOD.

I accepted, and carried the memory for over ten years now. And I always think that I need to repay the debt of Love.

(PS: I always remember what my American Host Mother said: "Don't refuse kindness, pass them on to the next person.")

To me and my family, everything got everything to do with GOD.

With that said, I agree with you that a person should not believe just because of these benefits. There is a saying that we should not pray for the benefit from Jesus, but to pray for the benefit of having Jesus (in your heart). Otherwise, it's 買珠還櫝, and it will not make any different weather you seek after Christ or Budda or FLG.

On the other hand, people have different personal experiences, and different "levels" of believe, we should respect them, at least for their sincere and pure heart. If you looked around, while all these people contribute these to God and give thanks, and a lot others were only contribute to themselves and boasting to others. I like the first group of people better,and feel much eased being with them. Do you feel that too? :)

So can you share if you even ran into a testimony that you like? Or share what kind of testimonies you will like? Maybe we could find some for you. Personally, I heard a thanksgiving testmony from a Sister, whose husband died of cancer before their only daughter was born. When I listen to her testimony, I was very touched and believed that she did have great peace after all those misfortunes, and I believe her joy was from God.
