以學術取向為重的神學家 (也許就以誠之為代表吧) 要記得神學本身不能脫離實際的人生。

我非常欣賞John Frame 說的，神學是“人將神的話語應用在人生的每一個層面中。”他還有另外一個觀念：當我們在應用聖經時，就是在解釋聖經。所以，神學本身是不能脫離應用的。神學本身，不能僅僅作為一種學問來研究。

John Frame 是我老師的老師，我說過的theology is doxology就是從他的觀念來的。他所寫的一些書，如 The Doctrine of Knowledge of God, The Doctrine of God (A Theology of Lordship), Apologetics to the Glory of God: An Introduction; Worship in Spirit and Truth; Covenantal Worship: Reconsidering the Puritan Regulative Principle； Cornelius Van Til: An Analysis of His Thought; Medical Ethics: Principles, Persons, and Problems (Christian Perspectives，都是非常好的書；鄭重推薦！

而以人生取向為重的神學家 (也許以junerain為代表吧) ，也不要只依靠他們的“屬靈直覺”，或“只去跟隨一位有能力和有屬靈魅力之人的帶領”，對仔細和嚴謹地去研讀神學書籍不屑一顧。 (例如，最基本的，手頭要有一本好的系統神學書籍，隨時查考)。
