[kjv] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
[bbe] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's servant, where have you come from and where are you going? And she said, I am running away from Sarai, my master's wife.
16:9 [hgb] 耶和華的使者對他說、你回到你主母那裡、服在他手下。
[lzz] 永恆主的使者對夏甲說∶「你回到你主母那裡，屈服在她手下。」
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and ???? thyself under her hands.
[bbe] And the angel said to her, Go back, and put yourself under her authority.
16:10 [hgb] 又說、我必使你的後裔極其繁多、甚至不可勝數。
[lzz] 永恆主的使者又對她說∶「我必定使你的後裔大大增多，多到數不過來。」
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
[bbe] And the angel of the Lord said, See, you are with child and will give birth to a son, to whom you will give the name Ishmael, because the ears of the Lord were open to your sorrow.
16:12 [hgb] 他為人必像野驢．他的手要攻打人、人的手也要攻打他、他必住在眾弟兄的東邊。
[lzz] 你兒子必像人類中的野驢∶他的手必攻打人；人的手也必攻打他；他必居於和眾邦親相對的地位。」
[kjv] And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
[bbe] And he will be like a mountain ass among men; his hand will be against every man and every man's hand against him, and he will keep his place against all his brothers.
16:13 [hgb] 夏甲就稱那對他說話的耶和華為看顧人的　神．因而說、在這裡我也看見那看顧我的麼。
[lzz] 於是夏甲稱那對她說話的永恆主叫『你是看見萬事的上帝』，因為她說∶「連在這裡我也居然看見那看着我的麼？」
[kjv] And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
[bbe] And to the Lord who was talking with her she gave this name, You are a God who is seen; for she said, Have I not even here in the waste land had a vision of God and am still living?
16:14 [hgb] 所以這井名叫庇耳拉海萊．這井正在加低斯、和巴列中間。
[lzz] 因此這井名叫庇耳拉海萊∶看哪，就在加低斯與巴列之間呢。
[kjv] Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
[bbe] So that fountain was named, Fountain of Life and Vision: it is between Kadesh and Bered.
16:15 [hgb] 後來夏甲給亞伯蘭生了一個兒子．亞伯蘭給他起名叫以實瑪利。
[lzz] 夏甲給亞伯蘭生了一個兒子，亞伯蘭給他的兒子、就是夏甲所生的、起名叫以實瑪利。
[kjv] And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
[bbe] And Hagar gave birth to a child, the son of Abram, to whom Abram gave the name of Ishmael.
16:16 [hgb] 夏甲給亞伯蘭生以實瑪利的時候、亞伯蘭年八十六歲。

[kjv] And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

問題已經出現，逃避不是辦法，怎辦？
16:8　夏甲從主母和煩惱中逃出，耶和華的使者則勸她：（1）回到主母撒萊那裡去，面對問題的來源；（2）順服主母；不管她怎樣有理，都要改善對撒萊的態度。逃避並不能解決問題，正視問題、領受神的幫助、改變自己的態度、做當做的事，才是智慧之舉。

神可以修正錯誤，把缺乏變為祝福。你可曾經歷他這樣的幫助？
16:13　撒萊、亞伯蘭和夏甲都犯了嚴重的錯誤：（1）撒萊用自己的方法來處理事情，將使女給亞伯蘭作妾。（2）亞伯蘭依從撒萊的計劃，但當情勢不妙的時候，卻不肯幫助解決困難。（3）夏甲則逃避困難。雖然事情被弄得一團糟，神卻顯示他能使萬事變得有益處（參羅8:28）。撒萊和亞伯蘭得到了他們極其渴望得到的兒子，夏甲的問題也得到解決。只要我們願意讓神幫助我們，就沒有難以解決的問題。

神指示夏甲（16：7－14）
6. 耶和華的使者（很可能是舊約中的道成肉身前的基督顯現）
“遇見”夏甲並問她從哪兒來、往哪兒去，夏甲如實回答（16：
7－8）。注意是神尋找夏甲。

7. 神從三方面回答夏甲：
首先是命令──回到主母那裡，服在她的手下（16：9）。
其次是應許──夏甲的後裔將會是極其繁多（16：10）。
第三是預言──她的兒子以實瑪利及其後裔是野性的，衝突
不斷的民族（16：11－12）。

8. 夏甲感激神看到她的苦情並看顧她，她稱神是“看顧我的”。
以實瑪利意為“神聽見”（16：13－14）。顯然，夏甲求告
了亞伯蘭的神，神也聽見了她的禱告。

9. 這裡有幾點很重要：
a) “順服掌權者”是神的命令，即使掌權者是粗暴無禮的。
只有當掌權者的要求與神的話相違背時才有權不聽從，
既使如此，那時也要自己承擔不順從的後果（見羅13：
1－7；彼前2：13－17；徒5：27－29）。
b) 今天阿拉伯人追溯到他們的祖先到亞伯拉罕，聲稱以實
瑪利是應許之子、迦南是他們的應許之地。
c) 阿拉伯與以色列之間的衝突就是亞伯蘭和撒萊的犯罪的
結果。

10. 亞伯蘭在86歲時成為以實瑪利的父親，以實瑪利是血氣之子
而非應許之子（見加4：21－13）。
