神為甚麼要人受割禮？
17:9-10　割禮是為人在一切事上順服他並成為立約之民的記號。一經受割禮，就永遠成為猶太人，不能反悔。割禮也象徵與犯罪的舊生命斷絕，潔淨自己內心，並將自己獻給神。也有說是為了健康的緣故。

15. 神設立割禮，作為人接受亞伯拉罕之約、成為誓約群體成員
的記號。割禮是指在嬰兒出生第八天切割男子生殖器的包
皮。世界各國也有割禮的習俗，所不同的是他們一般是在快
成年時行割禮作為成人的標誌。為什麼要行割禮？這是一個
不容易回答的問題。割禮大概是意味着：
1) 是潔淨一個自然人的肉體（可能與夏甲事件有關）。
2) 是接受神的約並倚靠神的有形的證據。
3) 是後來是得救恩時的“屬靈割禮（外科手術）”的象徵
（見西2：11－14；創17：9－11）。
割禮不一定要求信心（雖然可以看出父母要下決心獻上自己
的時間精力、把這個孩子養育成一個合格的誓約群體成員），
也不是救恩的必要條件（見徒15和耶路撒冷大會的議題）。
