夏日讀書會

Pre-teen Summer Reading Club

有幾年，我家大女兒的聖誕節禮物，就是Max Lucado的書。後來大了一些，就是Nancy Rue的書。我的一個心願就是把這些有意思的書推薦給更多的孩子。所以就有了舉辦個夏日讀書會的想法。

這個讀書會是這樣的：孩子每人選一本書回去讀；然後把讀書心得做成一個讀書報告（用Power Point做）；最後是在大家面前講這個報告。

我決定這此的讀書會只面向10到12歲的孩子，是因為1）這個年紀的孩子大部分已在學校做過Power Point Presentation；2）我認為這個年紀的孩子是開始認真思考信仰問題的時候3）我的書正是給這個年齡段讀的4）我家大女兒今年11。

在家長和教會弟兄姊妹的大力支持下，這此夏日讀書活動順利結束。下面的是讀書會的精彩片段。看看孩子們可以告訴我們什麼!

“The Beauty Book” by Nancy Rue

“The Beauty Book is about how God made everybody different. It talks about why it is important not to compare ourselves with others. Some chapters tell how we should take care of our bodies, especially our hands and feet… I would recommend this book to others because it tells how God made each of us unique.”

“My favorite part is when Lily always talked to God right before she slept. I recommend this book to 4th and 5th graders.”

“Lily prays to God. She thinks that God wants her to be an advocate. Eventually, she found out she heard what she wanted to hear and calling it God, instead of actually hearing God.”
