[asv] And I will make thee swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that thou wilt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.

24:4 [hgb] 你要往我本地本族去、為我的兒子以撒娶一個妻子。

24:8 [hgb] 倘若女子不肯跟你來、我使你起的誓就與你無幹了、只是不可帶我的兒子回那裡去。
[lzz] 倘若女子不情願跟你來，我叫你起的誓就與你無干；只不可帶我兒子回那裡去就是了。
[ngb] 如果那女子不願跟你來，我叫你所起的這誓就與你無關了。只是不可帶我的兒子回到那裡去。”
[asv] And if the woman be not willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath. Only thou shalt not bring my son thither again.

把手放在別人的大腿下，是個甚麼樣的習俗？
24:2, 9　按照當時的習俗，把手放在別人的大腿下，是表明跟對方訂立協議或是認可公約，正如我們現在握手、起誓、或者在公證人面前簽署文件一般。

亞伯拉罕將婚姻與信仰結合的態度，會否仍適合現代社會？
24:4　亞伯拉罕希望以撒娶同族的女子為妻，這是當時普遍的做法，避免與異教徒通婚。當時，娶妻的事通常是由父母來揀選和作決定的，女子十多歲就出嫁，但利百加可能年紀較大。

亞伯拉罕堅持在神為他命定的地方來抉擇人生，我選擇的是……
24:6　亞伯拉罕要以撒留在迦南地，卻不要他娶當地女子為妻。這與夏甲為她的兒子以實瑪利娶妻形成強烈的對比（21:21）。叫以撒留在迦南、結婚生子，或者讓他回去在親族之中娶一個妻子，都比較容易，不過亞伯拉罕順服神的旨意──他所命定的人、他所揀選的地方。讓我們也在各方面完全地順服神吧！

5. 神在一切事上賜福亞伯拉罕（24：1）。亞伯拉罕也知道該是
