24:13 我現今站在井旁，城內居民的女子們正出來打水。
24:14 我向哪一個女子說：‘請你拿下水瓶來，給我水喝。’她若說：‘請喝，我也給你的駱駝喝。’願那女子就作你所預定給你僕人以撒的妻。這樣，我便知道你施恩給我主人了。”
24:15 話還沒有說完，不料，利百加肩頭上扛著水瓶出來。利百加是彼土利所生的，彼土利是亞伯拉罕兄弟拿鶴妻子密迦的兒子。
24:16 那女子容貌極其俊美，還是處女，也未曾有人親近她。她下到井旁，打滿了瓶，又上來。
24:17 僕人跑上前去迎著她說：“求你將瓶里的水給我一點喝。”
24:18 女子說：“我主請喝。”就急忙拿下瓶來，托在手上給他喝。
24:19 女子給他喝了，就說：“我再為你的駱駝打水，叫駱駝也喝足。”
24:20 她就急忙把瓶里的水倒在槽里，又跑到井旁打水，就為所有的駱駝打上水來。
24:21 那人定睛看她，一句話也不說，要曉得耶和華賜他通達的道路沒有。
24:22 駱駝喝足了，那人就拿一個金環，重半舍客勒，兩個金鐲，重十舍客勒，給了那女子，
24:23 說：“請告訴我，你是誰的女兒？你父親家裡有我們住宿的地方沒有？”
24:24 女子說：“我是密迦與拿鶴之子彼土利的女兒。”
24:25 又說：“我們家裡足有糧草，也有住宿的地方。”
24:26 那人就低頭向耶和華下拜，
24:27 說：“耶和華我主人亞伯拉罕的 神是應當稱頌的，因他不斷地以慈愛誠實待我主人。至於我，耶和華在路上引領我，直走到我主人的兄弟家裡。”

井旁遇見良人……
24:11 井是全村的主要水源，通常是在城外的大路旁邊。人們常要走一公里左右的路到井那裡打水回家。農夫和牧人從附近的田間打水給他們的牲畜喝。井邊是一個認識新朋友和跟舊朋友閒談的好地方，利百加每日兩次到井邊打水。
成為別人學習信心的榜樣，亞伯拉罕做到了，我有沒有這樣的目標？
24:12 亞伯拉罕的老僕人求神引領他完成這極其重要的任務。他一定從主人身上學到很多信心的功課，並且認識神。你的親友和同事從你身上認識神多少？我們要像亞伯拉罕一樣建立信心的榜樣；也要像他的老僕人一樣，凡事都尋求神的引導。
亞伯拉罕的僕人向神求明確的憑證對不對呢？
24:14 他所求的憑證跟一般情形稍有不同。按當時接待客旅的習慣，井旁的婦人會打水給行路疲乏的人喝，而不是他們的牲畜。亞伯拉罕的僕人只是求神指示他，使他遇到願意服事人的、甚至超越平常慣例的女子。願意打水給駱駝喝，是願意服事人的表現。他知道正直的重要，他不求神使他遇見富有、漂亮的女子，因為他知道內心正直才是最主要的條件，所以求神這樣幫助他完成任務。
娶妻求淑婦──我著重的是人的外觀，還是內心的美麗？
24:15-16 利百加樣貌美麗，但是老僕人注重的是她的內在美。我們看重外表，常花時間和金錢來修飾，我們又花了多少功夫來建立內在美呢？忍耐、慈愛、喜樂能使我們真正討人喜愛。
利百加遇人有需要即幫忙；當別人有需要時，我是視而不見，還是……
24:18-21 利百加願意立刻打水給老僕人和他的駱駝喝，清楚顯明她樂意服事人。打水的瓶子又大又重，而走了一個星期路程的駱駝，需飲大量的水──每頭可飲九百多公升。老僕人看到利百加取水飲駱駝，就知道她是盡心工作的人。你有沒有服事人的精神？當有人向我們求助，或我們看到別人有需要時，我們要盡力而為。
亞伯拉罕的僕人懂得立即感恩，而我卻……
24:26-27 亞伯拉罕的僕人知道神垂聽了他的禱告，就立刻感謝神的美善和引導。只要我們像那老僕人一樣合神使用，神也必使用我們、引領我們，而我們第一個反應也該是讚美和感謝神揀選我們，在我們身上動工，並透過我們工作。

僕人的順服（24：10－27）
9. 於是僕人踏上了600多公里的征途，前往亞伯拉罕先前所居
之地，兄弟拿鶴現在的居所，巴旦亞蘭的哈蘭城，去為以撒
尋找新娘（24：10；參見22：20－24）。有意思的是亞伯
拉罕沒有到其他的親戚（比如羅得）那裡挑選新娘。
10. 將到那城時，僕人設計了一個在主前求的印證，求神指定那
女子！（24：11－14）。
“我向那一個女子說：‘請你拿下水瓶來，給我水喝。’
她若說：‘請喝，我也給你的駱駝喝。’願那女子就
作你所預定給你僕人以撒的妻。這樣，我便知道你施
恩給我主人了。”（24：14）
注意老僕人的禱告不光是為作成此事，而且是讓神“施恩
（hesed）給我主人亞伯拉罕”（24：12）。Hesed意為“守
約的愛”，因此老僕人實際求神所作的是：顯明神信守他對
亞伯拉罕的應許！
11. 利百加恰是第一個出現在井邊的女子，她也是最佳人選（24：
15－16）。不僅如此，她一絲不差地印證了老僕人設計的試
驗（24：13－20），包括為駱駝打水，因為她有一顆樂意服
侍的心。
12. 這時老僕人的反應只能說是驚嘆不已（24：21）。他立即奉
送了禮物，並詢問她的家世（24：22－24）。
當利百加熱情相邀時（24：25），老僕人就讚美神的帶
領。
“那人就低頭向耶和華下拜，說：‘耶和華我主人亞伯
拉罕的神是應當稱頌的，因他不斷的以慈愛誠實待我
主人。至於我，耶和華在路上引領我，直走到我主人
的兄弟家裡。’”（24：26－27）
真的，這老僕人實在是親眼看見了神之手的帶領！

Let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac. And thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.

24:23 [hgb] 說、請告訴我、你是誰的女兒、你父親家裡有我們住宿的地方沒有。

[ngb] 說：“耶和華我主人亞伯拉罕的 神是應當稱頌的，因為他不斷以慈愛和信實待我的主人；耶和華也一路引導我，到了我主人的兄弟家裡。”
[asv] And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who hath not forsaken his lovingkindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, Jehovah hath led me in the way to the house of my master's brethren.
[kjv] And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.
[bbe] And said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has given a sign that he is good and true to my master, by guiding me straight to the house of my master's family.
