以学术取向为重的神学家 (也许就以诚之为代表吧) 要记得神学本身不能脱离实际的人生。

我非常欣赏John Frame 说的，神学是“人将神的话语应用在人生的每一个层面中。”他还有另外一个观念：当我们在应用圣经时，就是在解释圣经。所以，神学本身是不能脱离应用的。神学本身，不能仅仅作为一种学问来研究。

John Frame 是我老师的老师，我说过的theology is doxology就是从他的观念来的。他所写的一些书，如 The Doctrine of Knowledge of God, The Doctrine of God (A Theology of Lordship), Apologetics to the Glory of God: An Introduction; Worship in Spirit and Truth; Covenantal Worship: Reconsidering the Puritan Regulative Principle； Cornelius Van Til: An Analysis of His Thought; Medical Ethics: Principles, Persons, and Problems (Christian Perspectives，都是非常好的书；郑重推荐！

而以人生取向为重的神学家 (也许以junerain为代表吧) ，也不要只依靠他们的“属灵直觉”，或“只去跟随一位有能力和有属灵魅力之人的带领”，对仔细和严谨地去研读神学书籍不屑一顾。 (例如，最基本的，手头要有一本好的系统神学书籍，随时查考)。
