16:8 [hgb] 对他说、撒莱的使女夏甲、你从那里来、要往那里去．夏甲说、我从我的主母撒莱面前逃出来。
[lzz] 就说∶「撒莱的婢女夏甲，你从哪里来？要往哪里去？」夏甲说∶「我从我主母撒莱面前逃出来。」
[kjv] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
[bbe] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's servant, where have you come from and where are you going? And she said, I am running away from Sarai, my master's wife.
16:9 [hgb] 耶和华的使者对他说、你回到你主母那里、服在他手下。
[lzz] 永恒主的使者对夏甲说∶「你回到你主母那里，屈服在她手下。」
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and ???? thyself under her hands.
[bbe] And the angel said to her, Go back, and put yourself under her authority.
16:10 [hgb] 又说、我必使你的后裔极其繁多、甚至不可胜数。
[lzz] 永恒主的使者又对她说∶「我必定使你的后裔大大增多，多到数不过来。」
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
[bbe] And the angel of the Lord said, Your seed will be greatly increased so that it may not be numbered.
16:11 [hgb] 并说、你如今怀孕要生一个儿子、可以给他起名叫以实玛利、因为耶和华听见了你的苦情。〔以实玛利就是　神听见的意思〕
[lzz] 永恒主的使者又对她说∶「看哪，你如今怀了孕，必生个儿子；你要给他起名叫以实玛利，因为你受的苦难永恒主听见了。
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
[bbe] And the angel of the Lord said, See, you are with child and will give birth to a son, to whom you will give the name Ishmael, because the ears of the Lord were open to your sorrow.
16:12 [hgb] 他为人必像野驴．他的手要攻打人、人的手也要攻打他、他必住在众弟兄的东边。
[lzz] 你儿子必像人类中的野驴∶他的手必攻打人；人的手也必攻打他；他必居于和众邦亲相对的地位。」
[kjv] And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
[bbe] And he will be like a mountain ass among men; his hand will be against every man and every man's hand against him, and he will keep his place against all his brothers.
16:13 [hgb] 夏甲就称那对他说话的耶和华为看顾人的　神．因而说、在这里我也看见那看顾我的么。
[lzz] 于是夏甲称那对她说话的永恒主叫『你是看见万事的上帝』，因为她说∶「连在这里我也居然看见那看着我的么？」
[kjv] And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
[bbe] And to the Lord who was talking with her she gave this name, You are a God who is seen; for she said, Have I not even here in the waste land had a vision of God and am still living?
16:14 [hgb] 所以这井名叫庇耳拉海莱．这井正在加低斯、和巴列中间。
[lzz] 因此这井名叫庇耳拉海莱∶看哪，就在加低斯与巴列之间呢。
[kjv] Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
[bbe] So that fountain was named, Fountain of Life and Vision: it is between Kadesh and Bered.
16:15 [hgb] 后来夏甲给亚伯兰生了一个儿子．亚伯兰给他起名叫以实玛利。
[lzz] 夏甲给亚伯兰生了一个儿子，亚伯兰给他的儿子、就是夏甲所生的、起名叫以实玛利。
[kjv] And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
[bbe] And Hagar gave birth to a child, the son of Abram, to whom Abram gave the name of Ishmael.
16:16 [hgb] 夏甲给亚伯兰生以实玛利的时候、亚伯兰年八十六岁。
[lzz] 夏甲给亚伯兰生了以实玛利的时候，亚伯兰正八十六岁。
[kjv] And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.
[bbe] Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar gave birth to Ishmael.

问题已经出现，逃避不是办法，怎办？
16:8　夏甲从主母和烦恼中逃出，耶和华的使者则劝她：（1）回到主母撒莱那里去，面对问题的来源；（2）顺服主母；不管她怎样有理，都要改善对撒莱的态度。逃避并不能解决问题，正视问题、领受神的帮助、改变自己的态度、做当做的事，才是智慧之举。

神可以修正错误，把缺乏变为祝福。你可曾经历他这样的帮助？
16:13　撒莱、亚伯兰和夏甲都犯了严重的错误：（1）撒莱用自己的方法来处理事情，将使女给亚伯兰作妾。（2）亚伯兰依从撒莱的计划，但当情势不妙的时候，却不肯帮助解决困难。（3）夏甲则逃避困难。虽然事情被弄得一团糟，神却显示他能使万事变得有益处（参罗8:28）。撒莱和亚伯兰得到了他们极其渴望得到的儿子，夏甲的问题也得到解决。只要我们愿意让神帮助我们，就没有难以解决的问题。

6. 耶和华的使者（很可能是旧约中的道成肉身前的基督显现）
“遇见”夏甲并问她从哪儿来、往哪儿去，夏甲如实回答（16：
7－8）。注意是神寻找夏甲。

7. 神从三方面回答夏甲：
首先是命令──回到主母那里，服在她的手下（16：9）。
其次是应许──夏甲的后裔将会是极其繁多（16：10）。
第三是预言──她的儿子以实玛利及其后裔是野性的，冲突
不断的民族（16：11－12）。

8. 夏甲感激神看到她的苦情并看顾她，她称神是“看顾我的”。
以实玛利意为“神听见”（16：13－14）。显然，夏甲求告
了亚伯兰的神，神也听见了她的祷告。

9. 这里有几点很重要：
a) “顺服掌权者”是神的命令，即使掌权者是粗暴无礼的。
只有当掌权者的要求与神的话相违背时才有权不听从，
既使如此，那时也要自己承担不顺从的后果（见罗13：
1－7；彼前2：13－17；徒5：27－29）。
b) 今天阿拉伯人追溯到他们的祖先到亚伯拉罕，声称以实
玛利是应许之子、迦南是他们的应许之地。
c) 阿拉伯与以色列之间的冲突就是亚伯兰和撒莱的犯罪的
结果。

10. 亚伯兰在86岁时成为以实玛利的父亲，以实玛利是血气之子
而非应许之子（见加4：21－13）。
