181 days.
And counting.
Kamikaze attacks
Melted the steel bones
Of the twin towers,
But have stiffened the will
Of an unyielding nation.
Louder roars
And more deadly bangs
Are heard ten thousand times over
Smoldering smoke
Is sanctifying the caves
At much higher altitude.
Body counts
Are not lowered
But added with time.
Finite justice must be exacted
Even on earth,
But there is no exact justice.
Death wish is granted
For freedom’s sake,
But not on negotiated terms.
There will be no heavenly virgins
To greet the evil agents.
Only supreme justice awaits
Their resurrected bodies to endure.
