I must wander,
for if not,
I am no longer wind.

I wander to the scorched desert
to send traveling camels
the soothing breeze.

I wander to the stifling city
to deliver its citizens
the welcome freshness.

I wander to the high prairie
to kick the hind
of galloping horses.

I wander to the low valley
to lift up the smoke
coming out of the chimney.

I wander to the placid lake
to cause a rippling wave
distorting moon's mirror.

I wander to the winding riverbank
to color the budding willows
green of the spring.

I wander to the beauty salon
to mess up the fall of long hair
from bride's sinuous back.

I wander to the heart of man
to clear up the foggy smut
clogging life's arteries.

I wander to the blue sky
to catch my breath
before I cross country.

I wander yonder,
I wonder wonders,
I am the wandering wind.
