My son, who is very much into food, one of the nicer things of the world, asked me if there will be food in heaven.

I gave him an affirmative answer, based on my understanding of the bible.

Jesus clearly mentioned the new wine (and food) during the last supper (Matthew 26:29; Mark 14:25; Luke 22:16). He also mentioned many would be attending banquet in heaven (Luke 13:28-29). The bible also mentions the banquet in honor of Christ, the Lamb of God (Revelation 19:9). Lastly, Revelation chapter 22 talks about the fruit of life by the river of life, the fruit of life that was forbiddent to eat after Adam and Eve's sin.

During a post-resurrection appearances, Jesus ate fish by the lake of Galilee. It is fantastically interesting to speculate about the dynamic relation of this world's atoms and the next world's. John Pokinghorn, physicist and Anglican priest (and Templeton prize winner), has speculated just that in his new book.

I keep wondering... Hmmm, Yummy...
