Bible is not primarily a book about science. But bible and science do intersect in a key area: the creation (and also fate) of the universe and life therein. Since biblical truth is inerrant (despite the fallibility of our understanding about biblical teachings), all scientific truth must be subjected to the scrutiny of biblical illumination. If scientists teach an unbiblical philosophy that the universe absolutely has no origin or originator and no catastrophic end, we must reject the scientifically disguised and misguided philosophical claims. But bona fide scientific truth must be seriously considered when we formulate our potentially fallible interpretation of infalliable biblical truth. 2。对进化论的态度应是什么? We must reject all atheistic and purely naturalistic brands of evolutionism. We must dialogue with theistic models of evolutionism. Can evolution be a part of God's design in this cosmos? Certainly yes to many christian scientists. 3。科学发现在解经上如果应用? As said earlier, interpretation is fallible, so we must be humble and reserved. Science can certainly help us to understand better difficult bible passages that were misunderstood or poorly understood. Proceed cautiously and tentatively. 4。如果要有一本基于基督信仰的科学书籍,原则上应如何着手? Seeking ultimate grand truth is the common denominator. Grand truth will be cogent and coherent, not contradicting with itself. Imagine the yet insoluble conflict between General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. That means we have still not yet arrived at the ultimate scientific truth dictating the origin of our universe. So let's be humble and deferential. Be open-minded. |
