家庭纠纷最难化解，亚伯兰立下了一个怎样的榜样?
13:5-9　亚伯兰面对与侄儿罗得可能发生的冲突，采取主动去解决这一场纷争。他虽然年长，有选择的优先权，却让罗得先选，即使会吃亏，也不在乎。亚伯兰的榜样教导我们如何处理家庭纠纷：（1）采取主动去化解冲突；（2）即使会吃亏，也先满足别人的要求；（3）把家庭和睦放在个人欲望之上。

若人与人之间出现争执与纷争时，我会怎样面对？
13:7-8　亚伯兰的牧人和罗得的牧人周围都有许多对他们怀有敌意的人，他们本应团结一致才是。可惜，他们竟让小小的嫉妒分裂了。今天也会有同样情况，撒但在基督徒周围动工，使之发生争执。
　　在信徒之间的竞争、争论、不和，会造成三方面的损害：（1）损毁人类美好关系的基础──友好、信任、和睦；（2）阻碍人朝重要目标前进；（3）使人以自我为中心，不以爱为中心。耶稣明白争执在弟兄中间的破坏性，所以他在被出卖被捆绑之前的最后祷告中，为信徒祈求合一（参约17:21）。

人作选择会以眼前看为最好的作决定。我的选择标准……
13:10-11　从罗得的选择中我们可看出他的性格。他拣选那地最好的部分，尽管这意味著他住得靠近因罪恶而声名狼藉的所多玛。他贪婪，只想自己得到最好的，不考虑叔父亚伯兰的需要和公平的问题。人生充满了选择，我们也可以拣选最好的东西，而不理会别人的感受和需要。不过这样会产生许多问题，罗得的一生就是明显的例子。由此可以看到，我们若不照著神的指示来选择，就只会作出错误的决定。

世俗事情可以毁灭信心，但人又不可以离世独立，如何可以建立谨守而不随流的生活？
13:12　罗得首先挑选美好的草场和充足的水源，这似乎是明智的，但他没有看到邪恶的所多玛会带来试探，且足以毁灭他的家庭。你有没有选择住在“所多玛”，或者在那里工作？即使你以为自己意志坚强，能够抵抗试探，但你的家人却未必可以。若神吩咐我们去接触“所多玛”之人时，我们就必须谨守，不要与他们同流合污。

观察与评论：

亚伯兰与罗得分离（13：1－13）
1. 亚伯兰及其家人（包括撒莱和罗得）从埃及回到了应许之地
（13：1）。神不念亚伯兰的欺骗，依然赐给他物质上的丰富
──“亚伯兰的金、银、牲畜极多”（13：2）。
亚伯兰在伯特利和艾之间安营扎寨，就是起先筑坛求告
神的地方。回到应许之地后，亚伯兰一家又恢复了向耶和华
的主动敬拜（13：3－4）。

2. 罗得与亚伯兰一同兴盛起来（牛群、羊群、帐棚）（13：5），
然而那地不能同时容纳他们（13：6），可能是因为那里的迦
南人和比利洗人（13：7）。罗得的牧人和亚伯兰的牧人因喂
饮牲畜开始争吵（争权利）（13：7）。

3. 意味深长的是，是亚伯兰，而不是罗得，作出决定：和平比
（放牲畜的）权利更重要（13：8）。这是一个凭信心而行的
人，甘心把首选权让给罗得，让他先挑到哪里安居（13：9）。
类似的时候，我们会很自然地希望首先选择。在这时罗得抓
住了好机会。他如常人一样，是凭眼见而不是凭信心而行，
因他的选择是按着他肉眼所见而作的（见林后5：7，4：18；
来11：10－11）。

4. 罗得“举目观看”，为自己作了选择──按肉眼所能看见
的表面现象。约旦河全平原滋润的土地显然是人自然的选择
（13：10－11），然而这种看似正确的选择将使亚伯兰年青
的侄子罗得陷入麻烦之中。13：10敲响了警钟：提到所多玛
和蛾摩拉沉溺在暂时享乐的罪中（见创19）。

5. 然而分开是很重要的，因为只有亚伯兰“离开”本家本族，
神才能确立与亚伯兰的约。这是一个先决条件，亚伯兰现在
已经达到了──“他们就彼此分离了”（13：11）。

6. 亚伯兰住在约旦河西岸的迦南地，罗得则渐渐地挪移帐棚，
一直搬到所多玛（13：13）。虽然所多玛的确切位置不能清
楚确定，但琐珥的位置基本可以断定是在盐海（死海）南端
西订谷附近，靠近马撒达。当时那地丰饶荣美每如乐园（13：
10），然而外表可以欺骗人，如13节所说：
“所多玛人在耶和华面前罪大恶极”（13：13）。
罗得的选择现在使他深受罪恶的影响──他离他们太近了！
今天，死海南端周围已成不毛之地。
*中文版注：死海南端的西订谷是指东岸半岛以南的那部
分；这部分比半岛以北的那部分浅多了，地理上可以证明它
在主前两千年左右，就是亚伯兰的时候，经历了一次巨大的
地理变化，从本来在地上，降到水下。所多玛和蛾摩拉遗址
可能就在这水下。当西订谷还在地上的时候，曾有示拿地的
四王来此攻打所多玛等城的五王，（见创14：1－3）。圣经
说“那里有许多石漆坑”（创14：10），如今。在死海南端
还可以看见飘浮的柏油团。马撒达是死海西岸的一个城堡，
基本上是正对着在东岸的半岛。*
