路加福音9：23－26： “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, and but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it. For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of
the Holy Spirit.”(NASV)

V23说，要舍己天天背起十字架来跟从耶酥。所以背十字架简单讲就是舍己的道路。主耶酥为了顺服神，舍己。同样，我们为了追随耶酥，为了顺服神，也要舍己。

后面三节经文具体解释了背十字架的内容，解释了我们要舍什么，要追求什么。从结构上讲，三个FOR作为标志。把这三个选择体现在意，口，行中，就是背十字架。
V24,Worldly goal or heavenly purpose.
V25, Worldly gain or heavenly profit.
V26, Worldly glory or heavenly praise.

总之，就是“你们要思念上面的事，不要思念地上的事。因为你们已经死了，你们的生命与基督一同藏在神里面。基督是我们的生命，他显现的时候，你们也要与他一同显现在荣耀里。”（歌罗西书3：2－4）
