The Hornets wanted to have a new player on the roster by Thursday, but now that probably won't happen until Saturday when they host Detroit.

The Hornets were granted an exemption by the NBA on Thursday that will allow them to have four players on the injured list. But Jamaal Magloire won't be added to the list with a broken right ring finger until Saturday, the same day the team expects a targeted Continental Basketball Association player to undergo a physical and sign a contract. Baron Davis, Rodney Rogers and Jamal Mashburn are already on the injured list.
