soon North was declaring 5C to this contract. There was nothing to the play
and really nothing we could do. We just had to collect -600 and 10.5/51.

If the bidding in previous hand did not sound very convincing, it might be
that this pair is just aggressive. Since with this NS card, they bid to the
hopeless 6D. Against that Fred led a S and declarer won per force. He led a C
to the A and led a H up to his K. Fred won the A and cashed another. I still
had the DJ to overruff the H and that was down 2. 44/51.
