For Kids 

        Summer for some kids seems boring. They stay at home, playing videogames all day. No worries, you will never be bored again, because Guang Hua Chinese School, aka GHCS, is hosting a summer camp. The camp is for all ages, so you can be stuck with an annoying 4 years old all day if you are unlucky. Instead of wasting those precious brains over TV screens, you can come into a classroom and learn! I know, right? Isn’t learning during summer so awesome? The camp dedicates an entire hour to Chinese in reading and writing daily. The camp also features a wide variety of classes that teach skills that have no help in life at all. You can learn how to use something called Abacus, an ancient type of calculator. Apparently, this “amazing” calculator is no longer in stores or basically used anywhere else on the planet. Plus, you get to learn how to spin a Chinese yo-yo. So, for your future resume, you can write how you can spin a thing on two sticks attached to a string. The summer camp shows funky Chinese kid skits like “Big-head Boy”, too. It’s about the adventures/life story of a little spoiled boy who has a huge head. It sounds like a good show, doesn’t it? The food also tastes very good, with stuff like hot dogs and hamburgers. They’re just rather a bit to get, so the TAs go to get the food. Doesn’t this sound like fun and school??!

For Parents 

        GHCS Summer Camp is the perfect place for your child to go to. The one thing we pride ourselves on is our safety. We provide careful eyes from check-in to check out and your child can have a fun time and also feel safe. Kids even get their personal helper to walk them to the bathroom. Also, when we go outside, all the kids are safe because they aren’t allowed past certain borders. I know it may sound like a prison, but trust me, I would rather be overly secure or lose a child. Best of all, kids can’t get lost since they’re only in one room for the entire day! In the meanwhile, we take pride ourselves with our food. You can get a wide selection of combos from our lunch menu: chicken fingers & BBQ sauce, chicken fingers & ketchup, etc. The food is also very cheap as well, but just with a tad bit of trips that go to the TAs who get the food.

        暑假對某些孩童而言意味着無聊乏味，他們囚居在家，整天痴迷於電子遊戲。請放心，這下你將不再沒事可做，因為光華中文學校舉辦夏令營。這個夏令營適於各個年齡的少年兒童，因此假如運氣欠佳，沒準兒遇到一位四歲大的淘氣包讓你脫身不得。你大可不必把精力耗費在電視機前，光華夏令營為你提供學習場所！我說的對嗎？難道暑假堅持學習不值得稱道？光華夏令營安排每天整整一個鐘頭學中文閱讀和寫作，同時還接觸許多其它課目包括這輩子你完全用不上的技能，學習如何撥弄古代用來核賬的神奇珠算盤子，迄今堪為舉世無雙。另外，你還會親手練習中國傳統空竹，你應從長計議，將來在準備簡歷時好把兩根棍子中間拴上線繩的玩藝加寫進去。光華夏令營還播放看似有趣的短劇，例如“大頭娃娃”，一個有關長着大腦袋卻被百般寵愛的小男孩故事，聽起來倒是不錯的題材，對不對？吃的也相當可口，有熱狗和漢堡包之類的快餐食品，只是就餐前需要小小耐心，因為助教們得親自出馬為你們效勞。說到這裡，光華夏令營是不是集娛樂與學習之大成？？！

家長鬚知

        光華夏令營為您的子女提供了一個理想場所，有一點我們不無自豪，那就是確保孩子人身安全，每天從踏進大門到離開教室，人人都要簽名登記，這樣在及時行樂的同時了卻任何後顧之憂。孩童們甚至更有私人保鏢，護送進出廁所；出門在外，他們一定要在規定的地域活動，我理解您也許會說這不有點像監獄，但請相信，我們寧可錯圈一群，也不丟失一個。這麼一來，任何營員無法從我們眼皮底下溜走，因為大家全天候共享同一屋檐！與此同時我們十分推崇午餐，很多選擇準保叫您目不暇接：雞塊蘸燒烤調味、雞塊抹番茄醬、等等，物美價廉別具風味，只不過稍微花點功夫，助教們爭相上陣，親自為各位金童玉女打來熱氣騰騰的飯菜。
