3 月14日，是一個歷史的日子，After 將近80 年SAT的慣例舉行及由此引發的廣泛的爭議後，改革後的新SAT終于于這一天登台應試了。考試結束後， Local的一部分家長志願者們緊急聯手起來，抓了一部分考生，憑藉着他們的Fresh Memories，基本復原了其中一份考卷的95%的考試題。下面，就這次考試，我和各位談談大概的情況和考生們的感受。

這次考試， Writing Section: Multiple-choice grammar questions last 35 minutes. The essay takes 25 minutes. In 25 minutes, students had to write up to a two-page essay taking a position on the prompt provided. Essay的題目是：1、Writing the essay question was about government and majority rule. 2、About the role of creativity in the contemporary world.

這次的Essay Test好像是一個 blue-book的exam， 一個 short essay on一個很 broad topic. 儘管如此,據我們所詢問過的孩子們的情況看來，它卻並不意味着是一個big deal，事實上，從我們所了解的他們的思路來看，他們都做得算是得心應手的，不像他們自己先前擔心的那樣。昨晚，我S也self-test了其中的一篇 essay，他認為，必須速度快到 write three paragraphs in about five minutes.

所以，假如你的孩子能在考場上建立他/她的thesis in one minute, and he/she can finish his/her first draft in 10 minutes, he/she will be OK. Also, 這次的essay definitely shows how much one studies, and how much one cares about the things daily.

另外，據分析的情況看，這次的作文，還有一個很大的issue, 那就是, the essay is testing two skills that are growing increasingly無關緊要: handwriting and spelling.

總之，Essay is really important. It is the first portion of the test that students have to tackle, and it maybe stayed with everyone for the whole test.

這次的math是ridiculously easy, 相比較於老的SAT math. 這次的Math, 其中有10 new Algebra II-level questions, 但是大多數questions 仍然cover了seventh- through ninth-grade math camouflaged to appear more difficult. 據孩子們反映，During the math it was really important to manage time. If someone took too much time on one question, he/she couldn't answer them all. 同時，懂行的家長看題後建議：Memorize fraction-to-decimal conversions將會幫助 save time.

Critical Reading: 包括了 timed sections： 兩個 25 minutes long and the other is 20 minutes long. 這一次的Reading Section, 題目很容易。但是，After我們研究題後，再一次地堅信不移：Vocabulary is extremely important！Even though you can know how to do all the rest, if you don't know the words you're dealing with, 。。。

So far, 我們調查的這些學生中的大多數是 feeling pretty confident with 這次的新題測試。我們對比後也認為，這次新的SAT考試比老的SAT要簡單些。
