Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer of the cry of the needy.
誦經的人比不念書的人好,記住的人比誦經的人好,懂得的人比記住的人好,遵行的人比懂得的人好。 《摩奴法典》12:103(印度教) Students of the books are more distinguished than the ignorant, those who remember them surpass the students, those who possess a knowledge of the meaning are more distinguished than those who only remember the words, men who follow the teaching or the books surpass those who merely know their meaning.
不要讓你的耳朵去聽任何不可聽的事。 《塔木德·德希里姆》1:4(猶太教) Do not permit thy ear to hear anything to which it is not able to listen.

人應當成為每一個人的朋友,此之謂人的天性;人也應當引導眾人行善,此之謂人的智慧;人還應當愛人如己,此之謂人的信仰。 《宗教審判》94:6(襖教) One is to become a friend of every one, and this is thy nature; also, bring them on into good-ness, and this is thy wisdom; also, consider them as thine own, and shis is thy religion.
凡事來臨,要徹底理解,其為善功還是罪過。如果行事而不知這點,雖為善功,卻也變成罪過。 《百事論》27:2(襖教) If any affair comes forward, that they should throughly understand whether it be a good work, or a sin. If they perform any affair without knowing this, although it be a good work, it becomes a sin for them.
人最關心的當是:化邪惡為正義,化無知為有知。 《沙雅斯特·那-沙雅斯特》20:6(襖教) The greatest concerns of men are these: to make him who is wicked righteous; and to make him who is ignorant learned.
你相信什麼,就要堅定不移;你說過什麼,就要言行一致。 《便西拉智訓》5:9(猶太-基督教) Be certain about what you believe and consistent in what you say.
說的要少,做的要多! 《塔木德·艾博特》1:15(猶太教) Say little and do much!
智者不悲生者,不悲死者, ——因為生與死俱將逝去。 《薄伽梵歌》2:11(印度教) The wise grieve not for those who live; and they grieve not for those who die -for life and death shall pass away.
切莫對別人的死亡幸災樂禍,須知我們所有的人都不免一死。 《便西拉智訓》8:7(猶太-基督教) Do not be happy over the death of anyone; remember all of us must die.

行一件善事的人,將得十倍的報酬;作一件惡事的人,只受同樣的懲罰。 《古蘭經》6:160(伊斯蘭教) He that does a good deed shall be repaid tenfold; but he that does evil shall be reward with evil.
誠實的行為好像一棵樹,結出奇異的果子。 《所羅門智訓》3:15(猶太-基督教) Honest deeds are like a tree that bears marvelous fruit.
神必照各人的行為報應各人。 《羅馬書》2:6(基督教) God will reward every person according to what he has done.
在誠實待人,那你就會無往而不勝。 《多比傳》4:6(猶太-基督教) Be honest, and you will succeed in whatever you do.
如果你們行善,那末,你們是為自己而行善;如果你們作惡,那末,你們是為自己而作惡。 《古蘭經》17:7(伊斯蘭教) If you do good, you do it for your own soul; if you do evil, you do it to yourself.
出離惡道,克行善事;謀求和平,鍥而不捨。 《克雷芒致哥林多人一書》11:4(基督教) Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and ensue it.
於己不善,勿施於人。 《沙雅斯特·那-沙雅斯特》13:29(襖教) Do not unto others all that which is not well for oneself.
善行必能消除惡行。 《古蘭經》11:114(伊斯蘭教) Good deeds make amends for sins.
審慎者常於行、思、言三處精進,而利澤眾生。 《毗濕奴往世書》Ⅲ·12:45(印度教) A considerate man will always cultivate in act, thought and speech that which is good for living beings.
你當離惡行善,就可以永遠安居。 《詩篇》37:27(猶太-基督教) Depart from evil, and do good; So shall you abide for ever.
諸惡莫作,諸善奉行, 自淨其意,是諸佛教。 《法句經》22(佛教) Not to commit any sin, to do good, to purify ine’s mind: That is the teaching of all the awakened.
順行正道,勿隨邪業, 行住臥安,世世無患。 《法句經》21(佛教) Follow the law of virtue; do not follow that of sin. The virtuous rests in bliss in this world and in the next.
你手若有行善的力量,不可推辭,就當向那應得的人施行。 《箴言》3:27(猶太-基督教) Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
你們要小心,不可將善事行在人的面前,故意叫他們看見。 《馬太福間》6:1(基督教) Be careful not to do your good deeds in the sight of men in order to be observed by them.
那僅喪失財富的,不因喪失而痛苦。但是,那失去善行的,就是真的喪失了。 《摩訶婆羅多》5·36:29(印度教) Let a man maintain good conduct. Riches come and go. He whose wealth only is lost, suffers no loss. But he who loses his good conduct, is indeed lost.
沒有德性,哪有美德? 沒有德性,人的生命也就喪失了。 《古魯·那納克的頌歌》1:5-6(錫克教) What happiness is there without virtue? Human life is lost without virtue.
沒有誰行善反得惡果的。 《摩訶婆羅多》5·46:20(印度教) None who performs good deeds, comes to an evil end.
不要為自己的事情奔忙;你們要全神貫注於凡能使全人類獲得幸福、使人類心靈和靈魂純潔的事務上面。最能夠作到這點的乃是純潔與神聖的行為、合乎道德的生活與良好的行為。 《巴哈安拉作品集粹》43(巴哈依教) Do not busy yourselves in your own concerns; let your thought be fixed upon that which will rehabilitate the fortunes of mankind and sanctify the hearts and souls of men. This can best be achieved through pure and holy deeds, through a virtuous life and good behavior.
凡是自己不願承擔的,也不要加在別人的靈魂上,凡是自己不欲得到的,不要叫別人得到。這是我給你的最好的教導,但願你能夠奉行。 《巴哈安拉作品集粹》56(巴哈依教) Lay not on any soul a load which ye would not wish to be laid upon you, and desire not for any one the things ye would not desire for your-selves. This is my best counsel unto you, did ye but observe it.
不要為人不公,要對一切人展示全部的溫和。要作夜行人的一盞明燈、悲哀者的一份快樂、焦渴者的大海、落難者的港灣、被壓迫者的支持者和衛士。要叫誠實與正直在你一切行為中顯示出來。要作外鄉客的家園、受苦之人的油膏、流浪者的堡壘。 《巴哈安拉作品集粹》130(巴哈依教) Be unjust to no man, and show all meekness to all men. Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed, an upholder and defender of the victim of oppression. Let integrity and uprightness distinguish all thine acts. Be a home for the stranger, a balm to the suffering, a tower of strength for the fugitive. |
