“Follow me,” Said Mr. Wonka. “And don’t touch things. This is where I invent things.” He opened the door. The room was full of machines. “This one’s where I develop 3-D glasses that you could see and eat. And this one where the thing called Foxlys are made. Finally the candy sunflower seeds are made here. These sunflower seeds are not done yet so none of you will be able to try them. If you do, you will be growing hair everywhere.” Said Mr. Wonka. But Molly didn’t care, she loved sunflower seeds and nobody’s going to stop her. Molly grabbed one of the seeds and put it straight in her mouth. One second she ate the seed, another second she was growing hair all over the place. “I told you.” Sighed Mr. Wonka. “Get my Molly back!” shouted Mrs. Bow. Mr. Wonka again snapped his fingers. This time two Oompa Loompas came, one with a bottle, the other with scissors. “What’s in that bottle?” asked Melissa. “Hair Stop,” Answered Mr. Wonka. “The only thing that can stop hair growth. But she’s going to be screaming by the time she gets the cure, so we’d better leave.” “Not me and my wife.” Declared Mr. Bow. “Follow me.” Said Mr. Wonka. They went through a door and into the corridor. “This is the athletic corridor.” Said Mr. Wonka. First they went into the chocolate swimming pool room. Wendy was overexcited because swimming was her favorite thing to do, plus with something to eat. Without asking, she ran into the pool and said this is the best pool she’s ever been into. “Get out! Get out! There’re sharks in there!” shouted Mr. Wonka. “The sharks come out every other hour!” Wendy acted like she didn’t hear him. “Wendy your leg was bleeding a second ago! The sharks will smell that!” warned Mrs. Swim. A triangle went up from the water. “Uh-oh.” Thought Serena. Nobody wanted to look but they had to. Scratch! OOOOOUUUUUUCCCCHHHHH! The room was filled with that noise. Mr. Wonka was busy with helping Wendy get out of the water. “Tsk. Tsk. The sickness of Shark Typhoid Abbot’s Fever.” Said Mr. Wonka. “My friend Abbot Kinsey just discovered this kind of sickness.” He whistled five times and a surgeon Oompa Loompa plus six Oompa Loompas came in from a door, each carrying or pushing something. “Cure her from Shark Typhoid Abbot’s Fever.” Said Mr. Wonka. “How come you have those sharks in there when they bite people and then the person who got bit gets Shark Typhoid Abbot’s Fever.” Asked Melissa. “The reason that I keep these sharks is they spit out shark candy and I mix the candy with chocolate to make my newest candy, Shark Teeth.” Answered Mr. Wonka. “Come on, I want to show you something special.” They followed Mr. Wonka out of the room and into the sport corridor. They went down the corridor until they got to an elevator. “This is one of my glass elevators.” Said Mr. Wonka. “Get in and each of you can pick a button.” “Is there anything that’s about computers and TVs in here?” asked Lee. “Yes, of course. Press that blue button over there.” Mr. Wonka pointed to where Melissa was standing. Lee rushed over and pushed the button. “Hang on to those straps!” yelled Mr. Wonka above the wind that was starting up. Everyone struggled to hold on to the straps that were on the elevator.“The elevator can go any way from north to south, from east to west, from southeast to northeast and from southwest to northwest.” Said Mr. Wonka. Ding, ding! The elevator door opened to reveal a bright room. “Put these on. These lights will blind you.” Said Mr. Wonka. They quickly put the glasses on. After Melissa put her glasses on, she could see a lot of things that were happening. Oompa Loompas were moving a thing away from a TV screen. “I decided that TV would be some use to make the smallest candy bar in the world. Things get shrunk when you put them through a TV, everyone knows that,” Said Mr. Wonka. “So I thought, if we could put pictures through a TV, why couldn’t you put candy bars? That’s how the most smallest candy bar was made!” “I want to see how.” Said Lee. “Bring on the candy bars!” shouted Mr. Wonka. About sixty Oompa Loompas carried what looked like five pounds of white chocolate. “Put it through!” commanded Mr. Wonka. The Oompa Loompas carried the white chocolate to the back of the big machine. Melissa realized that there was a hole in the back of the machine because the Oompa Loompas stuck the chocolate into the machine. Zap! There was a small candy bar on TV screen. “Can you take it out?” asked Serena. “Of course you can.” Said Mr. Wonka. “Try it.” Serena cautiously stepped up to the TV and put her hand into the TV. Then Serena was holding the cube of white chocolate in her hands. “Can you do people?” asked Lee. “I guess we can, I’m not sure, I’ve tried Oompa Loompas and they grew as tiny as fingernails.” But Mr. Wonka was too late. Lee jumped into the big machine and disappeared. One second he was gone; other second Lee was puny on the TV. “Get my Lee back at once!” Shouted Mrs. and Mr. Compu. Mrs. Compu was holding Lee in his pocket. “Bring these two people into the stretching room!” shouted Mr. Wonka. Five Oompa Loompas led the way. “How many more people are there left?” asked Mr. Wonka. “Just me and my sister.” Answered Melissa. “You can push the button that you want and then I will give you a surprise.” Said Mr. Wonka happily. They went back into the elevator and Serena pressed the one that said: THE WORLD MADE OUT OF CANDY. Melissa and Serena held on to the straps and the elevator blasted off. North, west, north, east, northwest, and stop. “The world of candy is the most prettiest room on my factory.” Said Mr. Wonka as the elevator door opened. Indeed it was since the trees were green and the sky was blue, it was like a beautiful paradise but tastier. “This is where the Oompa Loompas live. They love to slide down a big mountain at winter when I put Fun Dip onto this world. In the spring they plant sunflower seed candy, the one Molly ate, and I mix it with Foxlys to make the candy that Molly ate. It’s just that I have put too muck Foxly candies that made hair grow. In the summer they celebrate Independence Day for Oompa Loompas and Shockers, go flying everywhere, and finally they celebrate Halloween and wear masks of whangdoddles.” Said Mr. Wonka. “There’s one that I want to see.” Said Melissa. They got back into the elevator and she pressed the button that said: ALL OF THE CANDIES WILLY WONKA MADE. It was a blur. Everyone fell down including Mr. Wonka who tried to get everyone up and fell to the floor himself. Finally the elevator stopped with a loud screech and everyone was happy the elevator stopped. What a sight met their eyes! The whole room was covered with big wrapping papers of each candy he made. “I made six hundred forty-three candies in my life.” Mr. Wonka said happily. “What about that surprise?” asked Serena. “Yes, I almost forgot. Your surprise is that you own this factory from now on. Why? I’m older than you thought. My ear is getting problems so I can’t hear as much as I used to.” Said Mr. Wonka. Melissa and Serena looked at him with mouths dropped open. Then they burst out laughing. “Let’s get on with the learning of the factory.” Said Melissa.
