Mom

I crept down the hallway,
To see what’s for breakfast,
My mom was already making waffles,
In jeans and an old vest.

Pizza and waffles,
Juice and coffee,
Delicious candy,
Including toffee.

She’s always awake,
At 7:00A.M.,
Watering the roses,
Or cutting the stem.

She buys me clothes,
At Old Navy and Gap,
Cleans the faucet,
Polishes the tap.

Beautiful eyes,
Sparkling like gold,
Lovely face,
Never grows old.
