在圖書館裡翻到一套5冊的《Encyclopedia of Careers and Vocational Guidance》，最新版是第16版（2015年出版）。看到第1冊的目錄把美國的各種職業基本都包括了，感到抄下來對孩子上大學找工作都很有用。

女兒一直不知道大學讀什麼專業、將來幹什麼工作是好。幫她借了一本14版的第一冊（新版不出借）。她視若珍寶，每天晚上臨睡前翻看幾頁，也不知道她的腦瓜里對自己的將來有什麼打算。

這裡的職業目錄只是大分類，具體到某個職業，書中有更詳細的解釋。

對照美國勞工部的職業分類，這套書肯定還有遺漏的部分，但是大致比較熱門和常見的行業都在此了。
