The break through is the discovery of the fifth force, the repulsive effect between charge and mass. The full effect of this force is not known yet. So far, I have only known the static case. I do not even known the steady case of a current interact with a mass. In other words, the effect of magnetism to mass is not clear. This force is crucial for the problem of unification between electromagnetism and gravitation. In short, this is a new area that requires further investigation.
