In English "delusional" means a typical psychiatric illness: "A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness". In simple layman's words, it is a person who believes what is in his mind rather than what in reality. in good terms, we would call those people, optimistic, or courageous, or persistent. Or for the worst, we call those people cheaters,  players, or opportunists.

It seems that the last would fit Prof. Dr. Rao Yi (饶毅) and Prof. Dr. Shi Yigong better.

I wanted to believe what they said to the world, that they want to "help" China, to improve the research environment, and to change the culture of nepotism, cronyism, certainly not communism for which I know they do not have any spirit, nor balls, to utter a word.

China is still a country without much freedom in expression, association, even thinking outside of the orthodox CCP set limit. The "you can do anything except challenging CCP rule" becomes the biggest cancerous agent that is poising China, Chinese people, and Chinese culture is facing the real danger to be winped out by this and the next generation.

And yet, those good Chinese still believe that with their little tricks, they call "science and technology", they can save China!

What they are doing are what a blind rider is doing on a lost dunkey. Besides, they are privileged ellites adored and pampered by the CCP government.  饶毅 just renounced his US citizenship, citing that he was disappointed by the lose of the moral leadership of the US since 911... Is it a joke? But he certainly did what the CCP could not do in 60 years!

What he did is validating the moral and ethic decline in China, and support CCP's brutal treatment of human rights.

If China could grown into a powerful country, I predict that its fate will not be different, or maybe worse, than that of the Nazi Germany.
