Science deals with the truth. As such, generally a scientist should not deal any scientific subject in a whole sale manner. In other words, one should not label the Chinese medicine is correct or not in a whole sale manner. Chinese medicine being useful in China all though the Chinese history, cannot be all wrong. On the other hand, like any scientific subject including western medicine, inadequate understanding should be expected, and therefore, understanding should always be improved.

Historically, the approach of dealing science in a whole sale manner has done much harm in the progress of science. For instance, one of the major problems in Einstein's general relativity is that the scientists, who lack the necessary analytic skill, accepted general relativity in a whole sale manner.
