Vici, vicious and vicinity

Caesar once said, “Veni, vidi, vici”. I came, I saw, I conquered.

Vici means conquer. To conquer, one has to be vicious. Vicinity means nearby, or surrounding area. Your surrounding area is where you have conquered.

There are similar expressions in Chinese. 主 means master. 住 means reside. You are the master in where you reside. 往 means go somewhere. Originally, 往 means go and conquer, go and become the master there.

主 and 住 have similar pronunciations. 往 has similar pronunciation to 王， king. 往 means go and become the king there.
