P'(A) is the probability that A has more heads than B after throwing N+1 coins. If A already had more heads than B with the first N coins, then the extra coin doesn't matter, if A tied with B on the first N coins, then there's 1/2 chance that the last coin is a head and therefore A will have more heads than B with N+1 coins. Thus P'(A) = P(A) + P(T)/2 |
