Every year, hundreds of thousands of talkative snow geese and other winter birds flock to Middle Creek, an area nestled on the border of Lancaster and Lebanon counties in Kleinfeltersville,PA。

Yesterday's number of birds reflects the largest number of snow geese we have had yet this year – close to 100,000! Because the lake is still partially frozen, the birds were packed into the area that has open water and they eventually ran out of room and had to sit on the ice. While this morning's count was lower than yesterday's peak number of birds, we are most likely nearing peak migration for snow geese.
While it is exciting that goose numbers are increasing, public visitation has followed suit. To help keep crowd sizes manageable and to have a more enjoyable experience, Middle Creek staff continues to encourage the public to visit during the morning hours or during the week. If you do visit during the weekend, consider viewing the snow geese from other areas including Stop #1 or Stop #6 on the Tour Route.
