[Puke]

“Falling Short of the Goal Line”

You ran onto the field like you always do,
Crowd lights blazing, I was cheering for you.
But every Sunday felt a little déjà vu—
Scoreboard shining, but never in our favor too.

And I tried to keep the faith,
Told myself “next week’s the one.”
But we kept losing yards,
And I kept losing sleep till dawn.

’Cause you keep falling short of the goal line,
And I keep writing love songs in overtime.
Thought we were headed for a touchdown kind of life,
But the plays kept breaking, hearts kept shaking—
Guess even the strong can fumble sometimes.
Yeah… you keep falling short of the goal line.
And I keep pretending everything’s fine.

Your helmet on the counter, jersey on the floor,
You said “we’ll get ’em next time”—same words as before.
And I smiled like I believed it,
Even though we both knew the score.

And maybe someday you'll win again,
Find the fire, the fight, the spark.
But I can’t keep waiting on the sidelines
For you to stop losing in the dark.

’Cause you keep falling short of the goal line,
And I’ve run out of songs to rhyme.
We were supposed to be a championship kind of love,
But now I’m packing up the dream we once thought of—
Guess even legends can stumble sometimes.
Yeah…
You kept falling short of the goal line,
So I crossed into the end zone of goodbye.

“Fourth Quarter Promises”

You said this was our season,
Wrote my name across your sleeve,
Stadium lights were shining,
But the wins were hard to believe.
I wore your colors proudly,
Even when the crowd went quiet,
I kept saying “next week, baby,”
Like hope was something we could buy.

Every press conference sounded the same,
Every loss had a brand-new excuse,
You said “trust the process,”
But I was losing faith in you.

You made fourth-quarter promises,
Swore we’d rise when it mattered most,
But you fumbled all our chances,
Left me cheering for a ghost.
I gave you all my Sundays,
You gave me almost wins,
Guess loving you was like the playoffs—
Always close, never in.

I learned the rules of heartbreak
From the sidelines of your pride,
I memorized the scoreboards
Where our dreams went there to die.
You said pressure makes you stronger,
But it only pulled you down,
I was screaming from the bleachers
While you stared into the ground.

And maybe someday you’ll figure it out,
Find the fire you always said you had,
But I’m done waiting in the cold
For a miracle that never lands.

Turns out love’s not a comeback story
If you keep losing every round.

You made fourth-quarter promises,
But the clock ran out on us,
I was fighting for forever
While you blamed the refs and luck.
Now I’m trading in the jerseys
For my red lipstick again,
You can keep your almost glory—
I’m done losing just to win.

I don’t hate you, I just learned,
Some games aren’t meant to be saved,
And I won’t write your name in my songs
Just to watch it fade.

《這就完了?我還要!》

“Last Play on the Field”

The stadium’s empty on a Sunday night,
Paint still cracked on the fifty-yard line,
Your locker door swings like it’s saying goodbye,
Cleats by the bench, dust settling in time.
They’ll keep your number in the rafters high,
But tonight it’s just you and the quiet sky.

You spent your youth chasing echoes of cheers,
Now the silence sounds heavier than fear.

So you take the last play on the field,
Let the whistle fade into memory,
You gave them blood, you gave them years,
You gave them everything you could be.
Now you’re walking away undefeated by time,
Even if the ending makes you feel incomplete,
Some legends don’t lose — they just decide
When to leave.

Your hands still ache when it starts to rain,
Muscle memory won’t say your name,
Every scar’s a story they’ll never erase,
Every Sunday lives somewhere in your veins.
You laugh it off like it doesn’t hurt,
But I know that goodbye hits worse than the dirt.

They’ll say you’re lucky, say you’re free,
Like walking away is easy,
But you don’t retire from who you were
When the crowd still believes in you loudly.
You didn’t quit — you outgrew the fight.

So you take the last play on the field,
Leave your helmet where the shadows sleep,
You were built from grit and broken bones,
From promises you chose to keep.
Now the lights go down, the crowd goes home,
But your name still hums in the street,
Some hearts don’t stop beating for the game
They just learn how to breathe.

They’ll remember the wins, the hits, the fire,
I’ll remember the man when the noise expired,
Not every ending needs a roar —
Sometimes legends walk out the side door.
