【Aiden in English】
Today was my first day that I got to play as a mid-fielder. Luckily for me, the Chicago Fire was not exactly the best team in the league. Their record was 0 out of 2, and this game we just made their season worse by absolutely demolishing them for 5-0.
In this one sided battle, I moved my usual position as a defense up to an offense. It was a lot different from standing behind everything. As the right mid-fielder, I ran back and forth, not taking a break. Not the best idea. My lungs appeared about to explode, so I slowed down. But that didn't work either, because the team needed me everywhere. When we were charging up the field, I tried to be open for a pass. The mid-field wasn't turning out so good for me.
Soon, I learned to rest at the appropriate times. When the ball was in our defense area, I should get open and wait for a pass. If the striker got close to the goal, I didn't need to move since he's probably shot. Basically, whenever the ball was light years away, I wasn't required to run to the ball.
The mid-field is certainly different from the defense. It's a lot more tiring, but you receive the ball more. I hope I'm a mid-fielder next game, too.
